Aleena Rizvi is a documentary filmmaker based on Wallumedegal and Gadigal land. With a background in Media Arts & Production and Social & Political Science, her work centres on culturally informed storytelling, research-led practice, and editorial support across screen and live performance projects. She has supported post-production teams on MasterChef Australia at EndemolShine, contributed to Blackfella Films’ The Idea of Australia documentary series, and worked as a cultural consultant on Daytime Deewane at National Theatre of Parramatta.
Her creative practice includes directing and editing the short documentary Khandaan, alongside curatorial and collaborative work across film, theatre, and exhibition contexts. Aleena’s creative direction is driven by a considered, detail-oriented approach and an interest in stories shaped by memory, place, and cultural context, with a focus on collaboration and ethical creative practice.
