Khandaan (Descent) was a cross-cultural exhibition inspired by the Urdu term ‘Khandaan’, which translates to those who descend from one common ancestor. The exhibition took place at Goodspace Gallery on December 16th, 2023, and ruminated upon themes of cultural and ancestral lineage in an Australian landscape. Exhibiting artists delved into their own personal experiences of identity and diaspora, presenting works across several mediums that explore and reclaim their multifaceted connection to their roots. The sold-out exhibition featured live performances from Sentii, Yasmina Sadiki and Jade Kenji, and a screening of Khandaan (2023).
